Engaged Scholars: Michael Stamatikos

Michael Stamatikos long-standing strategic collaboration in fast-paced astrophysical research with the National Science Foundations IceCube Observatory and NASAs Swift/Fermi satellite missions has allowed him to participate in major scientific discoveries, while providing undergraduate students access to advanced research in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). This aligns well with his efforts toward improving the professional development of educators, K-16 student success, science advocacy and community engagement.

Nominations sought for Provost's Discovery Themes Lecturer Program and Patterson Lecture

Nominations are being sought for future editions of the Provost's Discovery Themes Lecturer Program and the Patterson Land-Grant University Lecture.

The Provost's Discovery Themes Lecturer Program brings eminent authorities to Ohio State to address topics related to the Discovery Themes and to engage students, faculty, staff and members of the community in thoughtful examination of major issues of public concern.

The Patterson Lecture brings to campus annually a prominent figure to speak to the range of challenges facing land-grant institutions in the 21st century and beyond. The lecture challenges the university and community audience to continue to use their knowledge and resources and work together to solve world issues.

2021 Outreach and Engagement grant recipients announced

The Office of Outreach and Engagement has awarded more than $215,000 to 23 recipients of 2021 Outreach and Engagement grants. Grants were awarded at a maximum amount of $10,000 to support development of impact reports for programs, performances or exhibits; development of a public policy document or report; or support for a team to develop a grant proposal or finalize a manuscript for publication submission.

Campus Compact now accepting proposals for Compact22 national conference

Proposals are sought that explore the theme: A Better Way Forward: Innovation with equity at the center. The conference will explore how we can imagine a better way forward, mobilizing the power of higher education to drive innovation, build connections, and create a new normal centered in equity and justice. Proposals due Oct. 15.
