The Ohio State University Event Sponsorships Committee

Mission

  • To bring a One University perspective to the sponsorship of external events by the University and its units
  • To promote this One University process by communicating it to colleagues and sharing the perspectives of individual units, while thinking from the broader university perspective
  • To provide information that brings transparency, fosters collaboration and coordination, and permits strategic decision-making about participation in sponsorships
  • To assure that the University is an engaged and effective community partner

Composition

  • Convened by representatives from the Offices of Academic Affairs, Advancement, Outreach and Engagement (O&E), the President (OTP), and the Wexner Medical Center
  • Made up of representatives from Academic Affairs; Advancement; Arts and Sciences; Athletics; Business and Finance; Comprehensive Cancer Center; Diversity and Inclusion; Engineering; Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; Government Affairs; Outreach and Engagement; Student Life; Trademark and Licensing; and the Wexner Center for the Arts

Charge

  • To review requests for sponsorship of any single event requiring investment of more than $10,000 and to provide advice to the Committee conveners about such requests
  • To review requests for a sponsorship of any single event when more than one University unit wishes to participate and the aggregate sponsorship expenditure across those units requires investment of more than $10,000 and to provide advice to the Committee conveners about such requests
  • To help identify participants whose presence will add value to sponsorship events where investment equals or exceeds $20,000 and to provide advice to the Committee conveners about such participants
