Engaged Scholar Q&A: Darryl Hood
|
The first 20 years of Darryl Hood's career were spent at Meharry Medical College, which is located in an underserved census tract in Nashville. There, he became sensitized to the plight of residents in vulnerable communities. At Ohio State, Dr. Hood has continued his innovation in discovery as co-architect of the novel Public Health Exposome framework and analytics. This paradigm-altering framework interrogates hypotheses focused on determining if there are associations between the built, natural and social environment and disparate health outcomes observed in vulnerable populations.

Engaged Scholarship Faculty Community of Practice - next meeting Nov. 9
|
The next meeting of the Engaged Scholarship Faculty Community of Practice will take place on Nov. 9 from 2:30-4 p.m.
The Office of Outreach and Engagement has placed a greater emphasis on the scholarship of engagement over the past few years through its grants and awards programs. In an effort to further advance this work and raise its profile at the university, we have formed a Community of Practice (CoP) for Ohio State faculty. If your scholarship is in any way focused on connecting the "rich resources of the university to our most pressing social, civic and ethical problems," (from Boyer, 1996, The Scholarship of Engagement), we would invite you to participate in this CoP.
