Stories and Opportunities for Ohio State's Outreach and Engagement Community
|
|
Dear Colleagues,
April was an active month for our engaged faculty, staff and students across the university. The Office of Outreach and Engagement held our annual engaged scholarship symposium last month. The symposium provided an opportunity for scholars and community partners to share their experiences co-creating research and forms of artistic expression for community enrichment. We recently announced our 2023 seed grant awardees and look forward to the exciting work to be led by our grantees.
To further elevate the work of our faculty, staff and students we are pursuing two strategic initiatives within the Office of Outreach and Engagement this summer.
Identifying Our Assets: In conjunction with the universitys Carnegie reclassification for community engagement, we will be identifying and documenting Ohio States high impact programs of excellence in engaged scholarship. This assessment will enable us to communicate the impact of our work with community partners and identify areas of strength and expertise to leverage in response to emerging community needs.
Enhanced Professional Development: Our office will launch a new series of enhanced professional development opportunities in the 2023-24 academic year. We will release our schedule of 23-24 professional development sessions later this summer.
I look forward to sharing more information related to these initiatives throughout the summer!
Sincerely,
Jason Reece
Vice Provost for Urban Research and
