Stories and Opportunities for Ohio State's Outreach and Engagement Community

Dear Colleagues,

A priority of our work has been to raise the profile of our faculty, staff and students who are active community engaged scholars and practitioners. Weve worked toward this with this newsletter, a revised recognition program, and support to apply or nominate individuals for regional or national awards. The individuals and programs being recognized this year are a small sample of the excellence that exists at Ohio State. Congratulations to each of the 2023 award recipients!

I hope you will consider joining us on April 6 for the annual James F. Patterson Land-Grant University Lecture. We are very fortunate to have Chancellor Robert Jones, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign visiting campus this year. Ive heard Chancellor Jones speak many times and I would encourage you to attend.

Next month, well start hearing from others engaged in leading community engagement at the university and college level. I look forward to my colleagues sharing their insights in the coming months!

Sincerely,
Ryan Schmiesing
Senior Vice Provost, External Engagement
