Stories and Opportunities for Ohio State's Outreach and Engagement Community

Dear Colleagues,

It is an exciting time across our campuses! Last week we welcomed Robert J. Jones, chancellor of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, for the 2023 James F. Patterson Land-Grant University Lecture. If you missed it, I encourage you to watch the lecture or read more about it.

We also had the great honor of hosting community members from across the state as well as university colleagues at the African American Behavioral Health Conference hosted by the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity, the Office of Outreach and Engagement and the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. It was a great reminder of the power of community as participants came together to uplift a very important topic.

Next week we bring together community partners and community-engaged scholars at the Engaged Scholarship Symposium on April 20. The symposium will highlight the impactful work happening in our communities through engaged scholarship, demonstrating the importance of reciprocal relationships and the valuable role of community partners. We hope you will join us!

I look forward to connecting and supporting the engaged work you are doing!

Sincerely,
Nicole Nieto
Assistant Vice Provost
