Colleagues,
As we close out the spring semester, we are excited to share some of the highlights from our activities in the Office of Outreach and Engagement. We wish to say congratulations again to this years University Outreach and Engagement Award winners and Programs of Excellence in Engaged Scholarship recipients. You can read more about their remarkable work in the newsletter this month.
We want to thank and acknowledge our colleagues at the Newark campus who hosted the spring Roads Scholars Day. Our visit included conversations with community leaders, students and faculty at Newark, an engaging visit to The Works to learn about Newarks industrial heritage and an opportunity to visit Ohios first UNESCO World Heritage Site at the Newark Earthworks Center. Thank you to everyone who joined and supported this springs visit.
We are also excited to announce our Outreach and Engagement seed grant awardees for 2024. Our seed grants this year prioritized several themes including STEAM, housing stability and affordability, youth violence prevention and supporting immigrant/refugee community needs. The work of our 18 grantees this year represents colleagues in eight colleges, the Wexner Medical Center and two of our regional campuses. This years grantees have projects centered in central Ohio and throughout the state. You can read more about this years grantees below.
Congratulations to all for completing spring semester and wishing everyone a productive and rejuvenating summer.
Sincerely,
Jason Reece
