2022 Outreach and Engagement Funded Grant Proposals
The following 2022 Outreach and Engagement grants have been selected for funding. This year, $204,710 was awarded at a maximum amount of $20,000 to support development of impact reports for programs, performances or exhibits; development of a public policy document or impact report; development or implementation of a program, performance, exhibition, or initiative based upon previous research, assessment, or public input; or enhance or expand a program that extends community access to the university, broadly defined.Learn More

Ohio State Energy Partners makes annual philanthropic awards
Ohio State Energy Partners has provided more than $800,000 to programs through its 2021-22 philanthropic awards. The awards provide funding for proposals that align with Ohio States sustainability goals and support the continuation of successful initiatives or the development/implementation of new programs or research projects that continue the trajectory of meeting the goals. As part of its commitment to academic collaboration, OSEP contributes $810,000 annually to the university or affiliated philanthropic causes.Read more

The new Frank Stanton Veterinary Spectrum of Care Clinic is helping Ohio State veterinary medicine students navigate what can be a trying transition from education to practice, allowing them to learn the ropes of business, customer service and even two-cat visits with the support of faculty.
STEAMM Rising Columbus aims to grow talent through education, partnerships
A new collaboration between The Ohio State University, the City of Columbus, Columbus City Schools and Columbus State Community College has been established to grow the next generation of teachers and students focused on innovation. STEAMM Rising Columbus is a new initiative to collectively develop STEAMM talent in Columbus and ensure that talent thrives in the universitys Innovation District and elsewhere. STEAMM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics and medicine.

Students organize COVID-19 pop-up testing sites
The 15 minutes it took one Columbus family to get tested for COVID-19 meant the difference between taking their unknowingly infected 7-year-old son to a birthday party, as planned, or going straight back home to set up a telehealth appointment with his pediatrician. Breaking chains of infection like the one that could have unfolded at the party is the primary purpose of COVID-19 testing sites run by Ohio State University public health students, who have been operating the pop-ups since July around central Ohio.
Ohio Sea Grant releases 2021 summary of Harmful Algal Bloom Research Initiative
An update of the statewide Harmful Algal Bloom Research Initiative (HABRI), consisting of more than 80 science teams seeking solutions for harmful algal blooms in Ohio, was released Sept. 13. The 2021 research findings update was released by Ohio Sea Grant, on behalf of The Ohio State University, The University of Toledo and the Ohio Department of Higher Education.
