W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Engagement Scholarship Award Internal Application

The Office of Outreach and Engagement is seeking applications from university community engagement programs for the internal process to select Ohio State's nominee for the 2022 W.K. Kellogg Foundation Community Engagement Scholarship Award. The regional award, from the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities and the Engagement Scholarship Consortium, recognizes extraordinary community engagement initiatives. Universities can only nominate one program per year. The Office of Outreach and Engagement will work with the selected nominee to complete the full Kellogg Award application during spring semester.

Applications for Ohio State's internal selection process are due by January 14, 2022.

Key award criteria include:

1. Substantial community engaged scholarship

2. Strong community partners

3. Significance of the issue being addressed

4. Substantial impacts on the community and university resulting from the engagement

The project must exemplify the description of an engaged institution found in the Kellogg Commission report, Returning to our Roots: The Engaged Institution. This includes characteristics of engaged scholarship, responsiveness, respect for partners, academic neutrality, accessibility, integration, sharing of resources and coordination/collaboration between partners.
