2018 Community Engagement Conference
Ohio State's inaugural Community Engagement Conference took place on Jan. 24-25, 2018 in the Ohio Union. The conference built on the traditions of the OSU Extension Annual Conference and the universitys annual Engagement Forum, greatly exceeding the scope of the two events. The 2018 conference theme was Partnering to Advance Health and Wellness.
More than 800 faculty, staff, students and community partners attended the conference, which featured over 150 presentations, posters and panels/keynote speakers.
The inaugural conference featured keynote speakers Donna Shalala (University of Miami) and Charles Rutheiser (Annie E. Casey Foundation); panelists Thomas Quade (American Public Health Association), Joseph Crowley (American Dental Association), Mario Molina (Molina Healthcare), Cathann Kress (College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences), Thomas Ryan (Wexner Medical Center), and Greg Moody (Governors Office); co-plenary speakers John Begala (Center for Community Solutions) and Amy Rohling McGee (Health Policy Institute of Ohio); and comments from President Michael V. Drake.
